MacKenzie Myranda DeCarlo (Miranda Denise Kania), 22, of DuBois, died on the night of Oct. 1, 2016, in Indiana, Pa.
Born Jan. 26, 1994, in Sharon, Pa., she was the daughter of Scott A. and Josephine M. (Ennis) DeCarlo. MacKenzie graduated from the DuBois Area Senior High School and attended Bethany Evangelical Covenant Church.
MacKenzie enjoyed writing poetry, volleyball, camping, and figure skating. MacKenzie loved animals and dreamt of becoming an animal cruelty officer.
In addition to her parents, MacKenzie is survived by her grandmother, Cathy-Jill Robinson, and five sisters: Sarah J. DeCarlo, Hannah A. DeCarlo, Raven A. Guignet, Fawn M. Guignet, and Amanda E. Kougher.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016, at 1 p.m. at the family's church, Bethany Evangelical Covenant Church, 26 E. Long Ave, DuBois, Pa. Immediately following services there will be refreshments in the fellowship hall. Those who knew and loved MacKenzie are encouraged to share memories and photos with others.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made in MacKenzie's name to Bethany Evangelical Covenant Church, to assist with expenses.
