Malinda L. "Linda" Chemsak, 66, Route 219, Brockway, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015, at the DuBois Nursing Home.
Born June 28, 1948, in Burgettstown, she was the beloved youngest daughter of the late Arthur H. and Josie Nelson Kimmons.
She was a devoted and loving fianceé to John Marshall, with whom she made her home for more than 30 years.
A loving mother and friend to her children, daughter, April Maurer (Charles) of N.C.; and her son, James Chemsak of Kersey.
She was the best grandma in the world to her treasured and beloved grandchildren: Leah Maurer DeCesare (Karl), Angelica Lynn Maurer (who preceded her in death), Charlean Maurer, Raven Chemsak, Shyen Chemsak, Lakota Chemsak and Shawnee Chemsak; great-grandchildren, Kaleb DeCesare and Karson DeCesare.
She was the baby of a yours mine and our family; surviving members include: a sister, Catherine Holt; a brother, James Southern, both of Washington, Pa.; sisters, Rebecca Barker of Spring Creek Township and Matilda DiPerna of Irwin.
She was also preceded in death by brothers: Robert Kimmons, Raymond Kimmons, Robert Southern, Eugene Southern; sisters, Blondie Wright and Betty Morrow.
She was also the beloved aunt of countless nieces and nephews (including greats and great-greats). The Marshall family of Brockway (John's family) was a part of her large family and she loved them too.
There are not enough lines to define a life so well lived and so well loved! She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Friends will be received from 6-9 p.m. today (Thursday, Feb. 5) at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6 at the funeral home with the Rev. Msgr. Charles Kaza officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Tobias Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the .
