Malvin T. Maines, 70, Sykesville, passed away Thursday, Dec. 11, 2014, at his residence after a short illness.
He was born March 6, 1944, in Niagara Falls, N.Y., son of the late Malvin and Marion Rager Maines. He was married to Donna Brudnock Maines on Aug. 25, 1973. She survives in Sykesville.
Malvin is also survived by his son, Jason Maines and fiancée Kelsey Winterhalter of Sykesville; two brothers, Chuck Maines and wife Janet of Big Run, and Ronald Maines and wife Lisa of Punxsutawney; three sisters, Bonnie Hance of Stockton, Kan., Mrs. Steve (Josephine) Hunt of Blairsville, Ga. and Mrs. Butch (Grace) Mitchell of Punxsutawney; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Malvin was also preceded in death by a sister, Dorie Lantz.
Malvin retired from Symco after 35 years as a oven tender. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today (Sunday, Dec. 14) at the Leo Nedza Funeral Home in Sykesville. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Fr. Mark Meholick officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church Cemetery in Sykesville.
