Margaret C. Bachelier, 91, Butler Street, Brookville, died peacefully at home Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2015, after a brief illness.
Born Aug. 20, 1923, in Grampian, she was a daughter of the late Warner Chelgren and Oleta Bonsall Chelgren. She was married to Raymond C. Bachelier on Nov. 11, 1947, in Grampian. The couple were married for more than 65 years before he preceded her in death Sept. 17, 2013.
She worked for 15 years at North American Refractory in Curwensville.
She was a member for more than 50 years with strong faith at the First United Methodist Church in Brookville, a member of the United Methodist Women for more than 70 years, a member of the Martha V. Conrad Study Club of Brookville and also the Pennsylvania Grange for more than 50 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Lila M. Bachelier of Brookville; a sister, Dorothy Leach of Curwensville; sister-in-laws: Kathryn Peretti of Florida, Helen Bonsall of Maryland, Becky Garner (James) of Alabama and Janet Phillips of Virginia; and brother-in-Law, Samuel Bachelier (Grace) of Grampian; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Helen Hepburn; and a brother, Walter Chelgren.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015, at the McKinney Funeral Home in Brookville. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 1, 2015, at the First United Methodist Church in Brookville with the Rev. Sharon Schwab officiating. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at The Friends Cemetery in Grampian.
