Margaret L. "Lois" Kear, 89, Weedville, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017, at her residence after a lengthy illness.
She was born Aug.13, 1928, in Weedville, Pa., where she lived her entire life, a daughter of the late Clyde and Alice (Reid) Gray. On Aug. 24, 1946, she married George E. Kear Jr., who preceded her in death Aug. 22, 2005.
Lois retired from Keystone Carbon in 1990 after more than 30 years. She was a member of Weedville United Methodist Church and enjoyed spending time at her camp in Hicks Run.
Lois is survived by four daughters: Linda Kear, Charlotte Pirazzi, Alice Workman and Joan Curci, all of Weedville, nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. She was the last survivor of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lois was predeceased by a daughter, Lois Jane Kear; a granddaughter, Amanda Workman; a grandson, Gregory Rooker; five brothers: Lorraine "Bill", Jacob, Burton, Miles and John "Rabbi" Gray; four sisters: Olive Wilt, Jane Barron, Dorothy Breukman and Mary Nowak.
Visitation will be held on Monday, Oct. 16, 2017, from 10 a.m. until 12 noon at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home in Penfield. Services will follow at the funeral home on Monday at noon with Pastor Missy Smith officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
