Margaret "Peg" (Hepler) Rowan, age 95, of Brookville, Pa., passed away surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017, as a resident of the Jefferson Manor in Brookville, Pa.
Peg was born on Jan. 15, 1922, in DuBois, Pa., to the late Wilbur and Caron R. (Meyers) Hepler. She graduated with the class of 1940 from the Brookville High School. On May 2, 1942, she married Charles M. Rowan; they had eloped to Cumberland, Md. Charles preceded her in passing on Dec. 20, 1990. In the time following her wedding she and Charles traveled for a while, and eventually settled back in Brookville, Pa.
She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Brookville, Pa.
Peg was a seamstress and she made beautiful garments, including her daughters' wedding dresses. She enjoyed going for long car rides to see the sights; mostly though she enjoyed spending the car ride with her family. She was very supportive of her grandchildren's activities, especially taking the time to watch them play baseball; she loved going to the ball fields. Peg really enjoyed watching Lucille Ball and Shirley Temple as well. Her favorite pastime was eating; she loved food, and she especially loved sweets. Gathering for food was a great way for the family to come together and having both those things at once made her life sweeter overall.
Peg is survived by two daughters, Caron (Ross) Ananea of Brookville, Pa., Cynthia (David) Ball of Jacksonville, Fla.; six grandchildren: Jr (Connie) Ananea, Megan Howson, Amanda Chesnutt, Ryan (Krystal) Chesnutt, Mackenzie (Ryan) Marosy, Keegan Ball; six great-grandchildren: Jory Ananea, Jaren Ananea, Carter Howson, Cayley Howson, Osha Chesnutt-Perry, Hunter Chesnutt-Perry; and one great-great-grandchild, Anakin Ananea.
In addition to her husband and parents, Peg is preceded in death by one brother, David Hepler.
