Margaret "Marge" Slimmer, 90, Sykesville, passed away Sunday, Nov. 30, 2014, at Christ the King Manor.
Margaret was born March 9, 1924, in Helvetia, a daughter of the late Michael and Catherine Gresock. She married Harold E. "Teen" Slimmer who preceded her in death in 1996.
Margaret was a member of Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church in Sykesville and was very active in the church for many years.
She enjoyed volunteering at the Senior Center, gardening, camping, and teaching ceramics and sewing.
Margaret is survived by four children: Mrs. Dennis (Kathryn) Bogacki of Reynoldsville, Michael and wife, Karen Slimmer, of Falls Creek; stepson, Jack and wife, Sue, Slimmer of Myersville, Md., and stepdaughter, Dixie Rodgers of Monongah, W.Va.; two sisters, Helen Mehok of Girard and Julia Roman of Reynoldsville; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
Margaret was preceded in death by four brothers: John, George, James and infant Michael; three sisters: Anna Sherba, Mary Meholick and Katie Osminski; and one grandson, Dennis Bogacki Jr.
There will be no visitation. Divine Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 5, 2014, at Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church in Sykesville with the Rev. Fr. Robert Karl officiating. Interment will be in Sykesville Memorial Cemetery with her husband.
Family suggests memorial donations to the Alzheimer unit at Christ the King Manor.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Leo Nedza Funeral Home of Sykesville.
