Marlene DeSatnik Boyle (lovingly referred to as "Moo"), age 85, of Meadow Street, Brockway, Pa., died on Monday, Jan. 22, 2018, at the DuBois Nursing Home.
Born in Brownsville, Pa., on Dec. 26, 1932, she was the daughter of the late George and Helen Ford DeSatnik. On Dec. 5, 1951 she was married to James Boyle and he preceded her in death on Dec. 30, 1991. They enjoyed 40 years of marriage together.
Retired, Marlene had worked as a hostess at the Holiday Inn for many years, and retired from Owens-Brockway Glass. She was a member of the First Christian Church, and enjoyed reading, working on crossword puzzles, cooking and baking.
She is survived by three daughters, Renee Magee and Lorae Fairman, both of Brockway, Jamie (Scott) Zimmerman of Brookville; one son, Jim Boyle, also of Brockway; grandchildren: Garth Magee, Channing Magee, Sean Fairman, Houston Fairman, Arianne Zimmerman, Ryan Zimmerman, Bo Boyle, Jordan Boyle, Jeremy Boyle; a great-grandson, Liam Magee; a sister, Faye Wyno and her daughters, Kelly and Heidi; a sister-in-law, Eileen Mills and her daughters, Beth and Heather. She will be greatly missed by her two dogs, Booker and Buddy.
In addition to her parents and her husband she is also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Denise Boyle and one brother-in-law, Rich Wyno.
Marlene was a loving, compassionate mother and grandmother with an amazing sense of humor. She was the light of our lives and will forever be missed. We are grateful for the gift of her life and a lifetime of laughter and memories that we will cherish forever.
There will be no public visitation. A private graveside service will be held with Pastor Joni Williams officiating. Burial will be in St. Tobias Cemetery in Brockway.
The family would like to express gratitude to the staff at the DuBois Nursing Home and the staff at Penn Highlands DuBois for providing excellent care and support throughout the past eight months.
