Marlyn Jean Royer, 84, DuBois, passed away Friday, Feb. 13, 2015, at the DuBois Nursing Home.
Born Feb. 12, 1931, in DuBois, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Lucille Rishelle Royer.
Marlyn retired from Bell Atlantic Telephone/AT&T in 1992 and was a member of the DuBois Emmanuel Church of the Nazarene where she served as choir director, pianist/organist, and treasurer. She also served as the organist for the First United Methodist Church.
Marlyn enjoyed cooking Sunday dinners for her family, doing puzzles, and listening to opera and classical music. She also enjoyed traveling to places such as Alaska and Jerusalem and loved her canine nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her brother-in-law, Walter F. Crosswaite; a nephew, David Crosswaite of North Huntingdon, and a niece, Lesa Skotnicki (Rick Mast) of Pittsburgh.
She was also preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Crosswaite.
Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 16, at Adamson Funeral Chapel Inc., 1312 Chestnut Ave., DuBois. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17 at The Emanuel Church of the Nazarene, 569 Forsyth Road, DuBois, with the Rev. Robert Larimor and George Tutor officiating. Interment will be in Morningside Cemetery.
