Marvin C. "Pete" Salada, 82, DuBois, passed away Sunday, August 26, 2018.
Born December 10, 1935, in DuBois, he was the son of the late Emery L. and Audrey M. (Alsbaugh) Salada.
Pete was a stone mason in the building and construction trade. He was a member of the International Laborers Union of North America. Pete enjoyed hunting, fishing, vegetable gardening, and riding his lawn tractor, but he especially loved doing wood projects. He was Methodist by faith.
Pete served his country in the U.S. Air Force.
He is survived by three children, Tammy J. Solida, Brockway, Pamela S. (John) Young, Brockway, and Steven J. Salada, DuBois; seven grandchildren, David R. Maines III, Debbie N. Maines, Candice Maines, Kimberli Sonnies, Vanessa Spencer, Rebecca A. Patton, and John Kyle Young; fourteen great-grandchildren; five siblings, LeRoy (Sherry) Salada, California, Gary (Kathy) Salada, Brockway, Terry (Kathy) Salada, DuBois, Bonnie Brown, Helvetia, and Connie Warnick, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Pete was preceded in death by seven siblings, Frank, Ronnie, Mike, Harley, Coleen, Audrey, and Barbara, three children, John C. Salada, Kevin M. Salada, and Debra Lynn Maines, and a grandson, Luke Solida.
There will be no public visitation. A Service of Remembrance will be held Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church with Rev. Corben Russell officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Adamson Funeral Chapel, Inc.

Pete's son, John Salada, was my best friend and I don't think a day goes by that I don't think of him. I'm sure John will be there waiting to welcome his dad home.
