Mary Ann (Sowers) Manfroni, age 68, of Brookville, Pa., passed away on Friday, Oct. 7, 2016, as a patient of UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa., surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on May 31, 1948, in Brookville, Pa., to the late Harry E. and Betty K. (Moore) Sowers.
On May 20, 1972, she married Arthur "Art" L. Manfroni; 2016 marked 44 years of their beautiful life together.
Mary Ann graduated from Brookville High School and then went on to complete her degree at the DuBois Business College.
She enjoyed meeting new people and easily made friends. She loved to go out shopping with her friends.
Mary Ann will be remembered, admired, and missed for the many ways she touched our local community. She was involved and deeply dedicated to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Brookville, Pa., where she would help organize and facilitate some of the many activities that the church held. Outside of church she was a wonderful example of a Christian woman who gave of her time and talents to many. Some of those things she was involved with include, working with various youth groups throughout the years, baton twirling groups, dedicated effort with the Brookville Area High School cheerleading program, and many others.
She was well known for the love she had for her children; no matter what difficulties or special challenges they may have endured, she made sure that they wanted for nothing and had every available opportunity appropriate for them. Her examples and memories as a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, will be cherished, and she is already missed.
In addition to her husband Art, she is survived by one son, Mark Manfroni of Brookville, Pa.,; one daughter, Molly (Matthew) Kirchoff of Lancaster, Pa.; one grandson, Brett Kirchoff, age 7; and one granddaughter, Peyton Kirchoff, age 4.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the McKinney–d'Argy Funeral Home, ltd, 345 Main St,. Brookville, PA, 15825.
