Mary Ann Parolari, age 91, of Brockport, Pa., died on Sunday, Dec. 18, 2016.
She was born Nov. 14, 1925, a daughter of the late Nick and Filonilla Cipolla Verne. She was married to Bruno Parolari on May 24, 1952. He preceded her in death on July 5, 1964.
She was a lifelong member of St. Tobias Parish in Brockway and served on the Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Horton Township Lions Club.
She worked for Brockway Glass and later for True Value Hardware and the Cherry Street Restaurant.
Mary was widowed at age 39. She was a loving mother who devoted her life to raising her three young children. She was a selfless woman who always put others' needs before her own.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing bingo, reading, gardening and going to Salamanca.
Survivors include two daughters, Janet Peterson and partner Dave Wilson of DuBois and Nancy Francis and husband Joe of Virginia Beach; one son, Thomas Parolari and wife Judy of Brockport; and three granddaughters, Jessica Francis, Angela Francis, and Emily Parolari. She is also survived by two brothers, Joe Verne and Nick Verne.
In addition to her parents and her husband she is also preceded in death by five brothers: Tony, Matthew, Louie, William and John Verne; and three sisters, Yola Becker, Dolly Verne and Annie Verne.
Calling hours will be on Tuesday, Dec. 20 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Dec. 21, at 10 a.m. at St. Tobias Church also in Brockway with Msgr. Charles Kaza presiding. Burial will follow in St. Tobias Cemetery. A vigil service will be held Tuesday evening at 7:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
