Mary Anna O'Brien, 92, of Reynoldsville, died Monday, Aug. 1, 2016, at Penn Highlands Dubois Hospital.
Mary was born on Nov. 20, 1923, in East Liverpool, Ohio, a daughter of the late John Douds Sr. and Stella (Finley) Douds.
She was Protestant by faith.
On June 17, 1944, she married William E. O'Brien Sr. He preceded her in death on April 8, 2012.
Mary was a very hard worker. She was owner of the Highway Boarding Home in Reynoldsville.
In her spare time, Mary enjoyed spending time with her family, camping at Treasure Lake, playing Bingo, and cooking, especially making home made bread.
She is survived by three daughters: Mary Ann Burr of Reynoldsville, Stella Akers of Reynoldsville and Connie Battaglia of Brookville; five sons: Daniel O'Brien of Falls Creek, Albert O'Brien and wife Bonnie of Elmora, Dennis O'Brien of Reynoldsville, Rocky O'Brien of Florida, and John O'Brien of Reynoldsville; one brother, Richard Douds and wife Audry of Industry; one sister-in-law, Gerry Douds of Ridgway; eighteen grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, William E. O'Brien Jr.; two brothers, Bill Douds and John Douds Jr.; and two half brothers, Johnny Popp and Daniel Popp.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until noon on Thursday, Aug. 4, 2016, at the Brenda D. Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Big Run.
A funeral service will be held at noon on Thursday, Aug. 4, 2016, at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Lakelawn Memorial Park in Reynoldsville.
