Mary K. "Polly" Petersen, age 70, Creation Drive, DuBois, Pa., died unexpectedly Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at Penn Highlands DuBois.
Born Sept. 30, 1946, in Indianapolis, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Kathleen (Horgan) Logan.
On Aug. 26, 1972, she married John C. Petersen. He survives.
Polly retired as a registered nurse from the DuBois Regional Medical Center after over 20 years of service. She worked in the Emergency Room and for Home Health in the Bennett's Valley area.
She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church where she was a past Eucharistic minister. She was also a volunteer at the Free Medical Clinic of DuBois. Polly loved to read and vacation at the shore.
She is survived by three children: Matthew Petersen and his wife, Kristine of Ashburn, Va.; Jennifer Petersen and her husband, Jeffrey Wisneski of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and David Petersen and his wife, Katie of Linden, Pa.; three brothers: Joseph Logan and his wife, Claire of California, John Logan and Charles Logan, both of Washington, D.C.; and two sisters, Ann Lawlor and her husband, Greg of Maryland and Elizabeth Buff and her husband, Ernest of New Jersey. She is also survived by a grandson, Linus Wisneski.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2017, from 4-7 p.m. at the Baronick Funeral Home and Crematorium, DuBois.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 28, 2017, at 10 a.m. from St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Jonathan Wisneski as celebrant.
