Mary W. Canton, age 90, of Oak Street, Force, Pa., died Monday, Jan. 23, 2017, at home, after a lengthy illness.
Born April 25, 1926, in Force, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Frank and Stella (Gusherowski) Winkler.
She was married to the late Angelo "Tuttie" Canton. He preceded her in death in 2002.
Mary is survived by one son, Mark (Denise) Canton of Bel Air, Md.; two grandchildren, Laura and Kelly Canton; and one sister, Marguerite Cortina of Force, Pa.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers: Norman, Ralph, Carl, Frank Jr. "Chow" and John Winkler.
Mary worked at Sylvania of St. Marys for 17 years and as housekeeper for St. Joseph Church Rectory for 17 years.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Force, Pa. She loved fishing and sewing.
She lived all her life in Force, Pa.
There will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held, 11:00 a.m., Friday, Jan. 27, 2017, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Force, Pa., with Father William Sutherland. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the DuBois Penn Highlands Hospice and will be accepting online condolences at www.nedzafamilyfuneralhomes.com.
