Max A. Mohney Sr., 85, of Reynoldsville, Pa., died on Sunday, Dec. 18, 2016, at DuBois Nursing Home in DuBois, Pa.
Born Wednesday, Jan. 14, 1931, in Reynoldsville, Pa., he was the son of the late Walter Mohney Sr. and the late Blanche (Shobert) Mohney. He was the husband of the late Irene M. (Lewis) Mohney.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was a member of Reynoldsville Presbyterian Church, the Reynoldsville American Legion and the Reynoldsville Eagles.
He is survived by his son, Max Allen Mohney Jr. (Colleen) of Beaver Falls, Pa.; daughter, Kathy Salzer of Erie, Pa.; brother, James Mohney of Reynoldsville, Pa.; sisters, Betty Snyder of Reynoldsville, Pa. and Shirley Campanini of San Diego, Calif.; and four grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife he was predeceased by brothers, Melven "Pete" Mohney and Walter Mohney Jr.; and sister, Dorothy Borden.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 22, 2016, at Reynoldsville Presbyterian Church located at 608 E. Main St. Reynoldsville, PA 15851, with the Rev. Steven J. Hendrickson officiating. Interment will be in Lakelawn Memorial Park, Reynoldsville, Pa.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016, at Bernard P. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., 206 E. Main Street, Reynoldsville, Pa.
