Max E. Curry, 91, of Jacksonville, Fla., passed away peacefully on Dec. 23, 2017.
Mr. Curry was born in DuBois, Pa., on Feb. 27, 1926, and moved to Jacksonville in 2001.
He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War and served in the USAF. After serving his country in World War II, Max attended Penn State University and graduated with a BS in agricultural economics. He worked in the meat canning business for several years with Wilson & Company and later worked for Lykes Brothers in Tampa, Fla.
Max loved hunting and fishing in his earlier years and later loved boating.
He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Neptune Beach and will be missed by all of his church family.
Mr. Curry is survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty Curry; son, Bob Curry (Donna); daughter, Carla Agee (Jim); three grandchildren, Shana Curry, Michael Agee and Michelle Agee; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank all of Mr. Curry's caregivers over the past few years, we really appreciate you, especially Fallene, Isaac and Lee.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 19, 2018, at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach, Fla. Interment will follow in Jacksonville National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to The McGraw Center, Community Hospice of NEFL.
