Maxwell "Max" W. Plyler Jr., 85, DuBois, passed away Friday, Nov. 13, 2015, at Christ the King Manor to be with his wife, Gerry.
Born Sept. 16, 1930, in DuBois, he was the son of the late Maxwell and Helen (Tompkins) Plyler.
On Feb. 3, 1951, he married Geraldine Delores Marsh. She preceded him in death on Sept. 12, 2006.
He graduated from the DuBois Area High School and later served in the United States Marine Corps. He retired as a supervisor from the United States Postal Service in DuBois. He was a member of First United Methodist Church.
He enjoyed wildlife, fishing, bowling, watching sports, and playing the lottery.
Max is survived by his daughter, Jill (Perry) Stoyek, DuBois, and two grandsons, Ryan and Evan Stoyek, also of DuBois.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and an infant son, Mike.
There will be no public visitation. Interment will be in Morningside Cemetery, DuBois. Arrangements are under the direction of Adamson Funeral Chapel, Inc. of DuBois.
