Melessa A. "Lessa" Casteel, age 54, Treasure Lake, DuBois, Pa., died Sunday, July 24, 2016, at Penn Highlands DuBois surrounded by her loving family.
Born May 10, 1962, in Orlando, Fla., she was the daughter of Daniel M. Maslona of Murrells Inlet, S.C. and the late Delores (Wenix) Maslona. Lessa joined her in heaven, as her mother passed away one month prior, on June 24, 2016.
On Oct. 29, 1988, she married Scott B. Casteel. He survives.
She was the office manager at Casteel Chiropractic Center in DuBois for many years.
As many know, Lessa loved the DuBois area and the people who lived in it. She was actively involved in numerous organizations and activities in an attempt to make our community a better place to live.
Lessa lit up any room she entered. Her infectious smile, her outgoing personality and caring ways made you feel loved, welcome and important. She not only will be missed by her loving family and friends; she will be missed by everyone she met.
In addition to her husband, Scott, she is survived by her children, Palmer S. Casteel and Chloe A. Casteel; a brother, Michael Maslona and his wife, Tracy of Maryville, Tenn.; a sister, Micky Bubnik and her husband, Dan of DuBois, Pa.; and cherished nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her dog, "Jazzy."
There will be no public visitation.
A private funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2016, from the Treasure Lake Church with Pastor Dick Whitaker officiating.
Her friends and family are invited for a celebration of her life at the DuBois Country Club on Saturday, July 30, 2016 between the hours of 3 to 5 p.m.
