Melissa L. Mottern, 78, 1453 Worth St., Reynoldsville, died Monday afternoon, Nov. 30, 2015, at her home.
Born Feb. 3, 1937, in Brookville, she was a daughter of the late Edward D. and Myrna C. Knapp Postlewait.
Melissa was a 1955 graduate of Brookville Area High School. She retired after 21 years of service with Utility & Industries of Reynoldsville.
She was Protestant by faith.
She is survived by three sons: Brian G. Mottern of Reynoldsville, Bruce E. (Bonnie) Mottern of Reynoldsville and Blaine L. (Sandy) Mottern of Stump Creek; one daughter, Virginia L. (Brian) Sprague of Reynoldsville; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; one brother, James D. (Shirley) Postlewait of Reynoldsville; and one sister, Lawanda J. Gradl of Reynoldsville.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today, Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015, at the Bernard P. Snyder Funeral Home in Reynoldsville. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, at the funeral home with the Rev. Leo C. Cramer officiating. Burial will be in Lakelawn Memorial Park, Reynoldsville.
