Cpt. Michael C. "Mike" Alexander, age 63, of Brookville, Pa., passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 27, 2017, surrounded by his loving family, at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital.
Michael was born on July 15, 1954, the son of Carl D. and Bernice (Haugh) Alexander. He was married to the love of his life, Brenda S. (Becker) Alexander, on Aug. 24, 1974, in the Roseville Church of Christ; Brenda survives him.
He graduated from Clarion Limestone High School with the class of 1972. After high school, he attended Clarion State College and graduated with a bachelor's degree of science in business administration in 1982.
Mike had a deep sense of pride and love for his country. He first enlisted into the U.S. Army in 1972 and then re-enlisted in 1974. Later he was commissioned as an officer. Over the next two decades, military life moved Mike and his family to many places. In 1993, he honorably retired from military service and officially moved back to his hometown of Brookville. He happily purchased a home and has remained in Brookville with his family since then. He was a member of the Brookville VFW Post #204, a former Red Cross volunteer, a member of the American Legion Post #102, and the National Rifle Association.
Mike (also known as "Bullet") had a love of learning, history, and reading. He always had a book in his hand and could tell you just about anything when it came to military history. Family research and genealogy was another passion of his. Mike was a talented artist and a skilled knife maker. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, coin and stamp collecting, and most of all, he enjoyed his family and his grandchildren. Michael was a member of the Roseville Church of Christ.
