Michael L. Hynes, 78, Treasure Lake, DuBois, died Thursday, May 28, 2015, at Christ the King Manor.
Born July 22, 1936, in Rochester, N.Y., he was the son of the late Thomas and Bertha (Dool) Hynes. On Aug. 6, 1954, he married Dorothy Kenney. She preceded him in death April 3, 1986. On Sept. 5, 1997, in Pittsburgh, he married Janice (Kelly) Hynes. She survives.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy.
He founded Allegheny Business Machines in 1975 and founded TeleData Services of Pennsylvania in 1984. He successfully retired in 1997 from telecommunications.
Michael was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church. He was an avid golfer, and a longtime member and board member of Valley Brook Country Club. He enjoyed spending his winter months at his home in Del Ray Beach, Fla. He was a member of the George D. Montgomery American Legion Post 17.
He is survived by his children: Deborah Hynes, Daniel Hynes, Michael Hynes and Patrick Hynes, all of North Carolina; and a stepson, Rodney Felix and his wife, Julie, of DuBois; four grandchildren: Alex, Lindsey, Jessica and Hampton Hynes; and four stepgrandchildren: Matthew, Jakob, Zane and Morgan Felix.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Hynes.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, May 31, 2015, at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home, DuBois. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, June 1, 2015, at St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant. Burial will be in Troutville Trinity United Church of Christ Cemetery.
