Michael J. Maxim, 87, 417 Route 28 N Brookville, died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014, at Jefferson Manor, Brookville. He was a former Reynoldsville resident.
Born Aug. 14, 1927, in Reynoldsville, he was a son of the late Michael J. Maxim Sr. and Catherine Ceranksky Maxim. He was married to Lela McKee Maxim on Oct. 20, 1951. She preceded him in death May 22, 2004.
He was Protestant by faith and was a retired mechanic for DuBrook Inc., DuBois.
He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include four sons: John E. (Mary Beth) McKee of St. Marys, Ronald A. (Linda) Maxim of Brockport, Greg M. (Marla) Maxim of Falls Creek, Brian D. (Linda) Maxim of Reynoldsville; a brother, Leo Maxim of Reynoldsville; a sister, Delores Joseph of Cleveland, Ohio; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at the Bernard P. Snyder Funeral Home in Reynoldsville. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Kevin Orndorff officiating. Burial will be in Reynoldsville Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the of Northwestern PA, 110 West 10th St., Suite 212, Erie, PA. 16501.
