Michael York "Football" McLaughlin, age 50, of Clay Plant Road, Brockway, Pa., died on Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at his residence.
Born on Oct. 2, 1966, in Brookville, Pa., he was the son of the late Alvin and Patricia Hollenbaugh McLaughlin.
He was employed as a Machinist at SGL Carbon Company in St. Marys, Pa.
Mike was a member at the Sugar Hill Presbyterian Church.
He enjoyed hunting turkey and deer, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler, Pirate and Penguins fan. He also enjoyed reading and most importantly spending time with his family.
He is survived by his fiancée, Rose Nixon, with whom he made his home; a sister, Melissa (Michael Werts) McLaughlin of Marienville, Pa.; a brother, Mark (Nakoma) McLaughlin of Hazen; two uncles, Lelon (Judy) McLaughlin of Brookville and Ellis (Linda) McLaughlin, also of Hazen; two nephews, Matthew McLaughlin also of Brookville and Keelan McLaughlin; a niece, Makaya McLaughlin; three stepchildren, Sarah Fulmer, Cassidy Nixon, Zachary Nixon; five step-grandchildren: Ava Moyer, Karlee Nixon, Josh Nixon, Danika Fulmer and Lucas Fulmer.
Calling hours will be on Friday, April 28, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 29, at 1 p.m., also at the funeral home with Pastors Dave and Emily Koehler officiating. Burial will be in the Riggs Cemetery at Richardsville.
