Miriam Lucile Holt Ray, 89, Brookville, passed away Friday, Nov. 14, 2014, at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio.
Born Sept. 9, 1925, in Brockway, she was a daughter of the late David L. Holt and Emma M. Britton Holt.
On March 23, 1946, she married W. James Ray in Brookville. They were married for 56 years. He preceded her in death May 15, 2002.
Miriam was a 1943 graduate of Brookville High School.
Before marriage, she worked at Sylvania in Brookville.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed raising her family, reading and knitting.
She was a lifelong member of the Brookville Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by three daughters: Linda Amond (Charles), Corry, LuAnn Topel (Ronald), Williamsport and Nancy Green (Joseph), Bowling Green, Ohio; and one son, David Ray (Karen) of Brookville.
She is also survived by seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Betty Fuller.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today (Wednesday, Nov. 19) at the McKinney Funeral Home in Brookville. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 20 at the funeral home with the Rev. Nathan Royster officiating.
Interment will be in Temple Cemetery, Warsaw Township, Jefferson County.
Memorial donations may be made to the Rose Windows Restoration Project, The Presbyterian Church, 100 White St., Brookville, PA 15825.
