Miriam M. Bailey, 99, North Street, Rockton, died Monday, Sept. 29, 2014, at the DuBois Nursing Home.
Born June 25, 1915, in Curwensville, she was the daughter of the late Blake and Lida Middleton Swatsworth.
On June 16, 1932, she married Clifford Bailey. He preceded her in death Nov. 20, 1983.
She was a homemaker.
Miriam was a member of the Gelnett Memorial Church. She was a past member of the Home Camp Grange #1222 and the Union Township Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting and watching Fox news.
She is survived by her children: Robert Bailey and his wife, Ruth, of Rockton, Nancy Conrad and her husband, Blaine, of Alton, Mo., Thomas Bailey and his wife, Martha, of Norton, Ohio, Dixie Horn of Rockton, Pat Marley and her husband, Robert, of Rockton, and Pastor Sherman Bailey and his wife, Pam, of Akron, Ohio; two sisters, Dolly Beckman of Olanta and Mary Lou Straw of Tonawanda, N.Y.; a brother, Clifford "Buck" Swatsworth of DuBois; 14 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 32 great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Sherman and Norman Swatsworth; a sister, Rosamond "Bud" Bailor; a son-in-law, Mike Horn; a daughter-in -law, Marjorie Bailey; and a granddaughter, Tricia Charles.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014, and from 11:30 a.m. until time of service Friday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home, DuBois. A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, 2014, at the funeral home with her son, Pastor Sherman Bailey officiating.
Burial will follow in Rockton Cemetery.
