Nina Lee (Bechtel) Knox, 57, Treasure Lake, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
She was born Nov. 18, 1957, in DuBois, to Roland Bechtel Jr. and Janet (Bailey) Bechtel. She married Robert Knox on Nov. 3, 1979, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Nina was a graduate of Madeira High School and the University of Cincinnati with a business degree. She attained multiple professional licenses in insurance and real estate services.
Nina was a busy and successful eCommerce proprietor and a very effective business manager. She partnered and assisted her husband, Robert, at their Financial Services business. Nina was a professional Happiness Coach, and invited everyone she met to take the "happiness journey" with her. Her credo was "Happiness is a science and a choice, a journey everyone can possess and enjoy."
Nina, a mother of two and grandmother of six (soon to be seven), worked 30 years in the business world. She always believed "Life is what you make it - So you may as well make it Happy." At the time that she fell ill, she was living her dream of helping others reach the same level of joy she had been able to achieve. Since gaining the benefit to work from home, she earned the freedom to do the things she enjoyed for true happiness. She was able to share this philosophy with others through her social media endeavors and professional organizations.
She was affiliated with Hapacus, Happy Home Boutique, Knox Financial Solutions, The Bechtel Agency and was a former Board of Director at DuSan Ambulance.
She excelled at working with and understanding people. She was skilled at organizing, nurturing and mentoring others. She was a very perceptive, happy, creative, poised and positive person.
Her family was her life. She loved taking care of them and keeping a warm and welcoming home for everyone to enjoy. Her hobbies included knitting, quilting, crafts, decorating and cooking.
Nina is survived by her loving husband, Robert Knox of Treasure Lake; two sons, Austin and his wife, Melissa Knox of McGuire Air Force Base, N.J., Brandon and his wife, Diana Knox of Glen Burnie, Md.; six grandchildren: Logan, Landen, Riley, Leanna, Heath and Raelyn Knox; her brother, Charles "Chuck" and his wife, Jill Bechtel of Lebanon, Ohio; and her parents. Roland and Janet Bechtel of Treasure Lake.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Roland E. Bechtel III.
