Norman B. Brown, formerly from Falls Creek, Pa., passed away peacefully on Sept. 16, 2016, at Christ the King Manor in Dubois, Pa.
Born on Feb. 9, 1927, he was son of the late Leslie E. Brown and Anna M. Brown Resinger. He was married to Rita I. (Bruno) Brown on Nov. 26, 1949. She survives.
A graduate of Sandy High School, he was a retired sales agent for Prudential Insurance where had a very successful 30-year career. He was appointed as a representative from St. Bernard's Catholic Church to serve as one of the original Board of Director Members of Christ the King Manor in Dubois from 1979 through 2002.
He enjoyed being with his family and close friends as well as golfing, landscape painting and traveling by train. He was an avid sports fan of all the black and gold sports teams in Pittsburgh as well as the Penn State Nittany Lions. He is also fondly remembered for his yearly Santa Claus appearances throughout the area during the Christmas season, especially at the Breakfast with Santa events held at the Dutch Pantry.

He also survived by two sons, Norman R. Brown (Betsy) and grandson, Conner of Fairport, N.Y. and Ted Brown (Janet) from Falls Creek, Pa. and two granddaughters, Jessica, Greensboro, N.C., and Megan, of Pittsburgh, Pa; one daughter, Louise Brown of Williamson, N.Y., and son-in-law, George Pendleton from Brockway, Pa., and granddaughters Bridgette Pendleton Snyder (Steve) Rochester, N.Y. and Katie Pendleton, Rochester, N.Y.
He was preceded in death by four brothers: Alvin, Ivan, Lester and David from DuBois; and one sister, Virginia Keene, also from Dubois.
There will be no formal viewing hours, at the wishes of the family. A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held celebrating his life at St. Tobias Catholic Church in Brockway, Pa., at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 6. Interment to follow at the St. Tobias church cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held in the Chapel at St. Tobias prior to Mass that day starting at 8:30 a.m.

He will forever be remembered for his devotion to his marriage, the supported and never-ending love to his children and grandchildren, his strong Catholic faith, kindness to all who knew him and for his wonderful sense of humor and storytelling.
