Olive Viola Miller Rose, 92, of Grand Junction, Colorado, passed away August 30, 2018, at La Villa Grande Care Center. Ollie was born in DuBois, Pennsylvania, on September 26, 1925, daughter of the late Dallas Miller and Janet Mowrey Miller.

She grew up in Kittanning and DuBois, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Sandy High School in DuBois. Ollie lived in Davenport, Iowa, and Ottawa, Illinois, where she was a secretary for the school district. On November 19, 1994, she married Frank E. Johnson. They resided in Tucson, Arizona, and Battlement Mesa, Colorado.

Ollie was preceded in death by her husband; three brothers, Grant, Gordon, and Percy Miller; and two sisters, Marjorie Leach, and June Casker. She is survived by one sister, Creta Miller of DuBois; a step-son, Kem Johnson of New Zealand; a nephew, Dave Miller of Grand Junction; a niece, Christine McNeely of Washington, Pennsylvania; and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was known for her caring and generous spirit, her love and laughter, and her "lead foot" when driving. She eagerly helped others and volunteered many hours for the Garfield County Senior Nutrition Program, RSVP, and the Habitat for Humanity ReStore, even past age 90.

Ollie was always up for new experiences. She and Frank traveled to Hawaii, Alaska, and New Zealand. In 2002, she flew to London on the Concorde SST and returned on the Queen Elizabeth 2. She attended the Tucson Church of the Brethren and Calvary Baptist Church in Grand Junction.

Friends are invited to a Celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 13, at Callahan-Edfast, 2515 Patterson Rd., Grand Junction, Colorado.
