Patricia R. Hiles, 88, Lower Burrell, passed away Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014, in UPMC Presbyterian, with her family by her side.
She was born Sept. 22, 1925, in Rathmel, Jefferson County, to the late Harry and Clara Lidle Peterson.
She had lived in the Lower Burrell area most of her life. Patricia was a 1943 graduate of Reynoldsville High School and a 1947 graduate of Columbia Hospital School of Nursing in Wilkinsburg. She has lived in Lower Burrell since 1948. She attended the Assembly of God Church in Arnold and was a member of Westinghouse Retirees Group in Cheswick.
Patricia will be remembered as a perfect mother and devout Christian.
She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and feeding her animals, especially the birds and deer.
She was an avid Burrell baseball fan and will be greatly missed for doing a "good job" in life for her family and friends.
Survivors include three sons and two daughters: Dennis (Carol) of DuBois, Mark (Vera) of Shelocta, Eric (Charlene) of Lower Burrell, Ruth (William) Lee of Brentwood, and Nancy (Andrew) Shremshock of Lower Burrell; nine grandchildren: Jacob (Jamie) Hiles, Ciara (John) Williams, Issac (Megan) Hiles, Joshua ( fiance Lindsey) Hiles, Mariah (Toby) Shaffer, Meredith (Rich) Hirsh, Adriane Lee, Kali (Nick) Fazzoni and Jenna Hiles; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, John, in 2000.
Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Sunday Sept. 7, 2014, at the Frank F. Gigler Funeral Home, 2877 Leechburg Road, Lower Burrell, PA 15068, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, with Pastor Daniel Carver of Real Life Church officiating. Private burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park in Lower Burrell.
