Paul Howard Haugh II, age 67, of Brookville, Pa., passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2017, in the comfort of his home.
Paul was born on April 8, 1950, in Brookville, Pa., to the late Paul Howard and Mary Helen (Klepfer) Haugh.
He attended the Brookville School District and graduated with the class of 1968. After graduation, he attended Alfred State College in Alfred, N.Y., earning his associate's degree in animal husbandry, graduating in 1970. As a teenager, he delivered milk for his family business, Haugh's Dairy, in Brookville. As he grew older, he worked more fully alongside his father on the family farm.
On Jan. 11, 1974, he married the love of his life, LuAnn (Hetrick) Haugh. They shared 43 beautiful years of marriage together and LuAnn survives him.
Paul had an extensive work history which included working for Kohlhepp's True Value, Craig Fleming Construction, Ti-Brook, and eventually working for Brookville Locomotive, staying with them through the years and retiring from Brookville Equipment in 2011.
Paul was a member of the Brookville Presbyterian Church and the Falls Creek Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Paul volunteered doing many things, notably, he helped build the field house at the school, welded the backstops at some of the little league fields, and supported the sports programs from behind the scenes. Paul's true nature was expressed in the works that he performed in helping and caring of others. He was generous, selfless, and he had a passion for farming, but nothing came before the support of his two boys. He strived to be, and was, an excellent father. Paul also enjoyed simpler things like driving around viewing the wildlife and actively working farms. Going to Benezette and looking for Elk was a favorite pastime. He also was a big fan of the Pirates and Steelers, and arguably a bigger fan of yelling corrections they could make through the television.
He always had a smile on his face and he was kind and gentle while being stubborn at the same time. He will be missed.
In addition to his wife LuAnn, Paul is survived by two sons, Michael Paul Haugh of Bozeman, Mont.; Benjamin Adam (Chelsea) Haugh of DuBois, Pa.; two sisters, Susan (David) Moore of Reynoldsville, Pa., Gretchen (Hud) Gerg of Greenville, S.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Paul is preceded in death by one brother, John "Harvey" Haugh, and twin sisters, who passed at birth.
A private viewing and service was held for Paul's family at the McKinney – d'Argy Funeral Home, ltd, 345 Main St., Brookville, PA 15825, which was officiated by Pastor Nathan Royster, and interment took place at Brookville Cemetery, in Brookville, Jefferson County, Pa.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Jefferson County 4H, ATTN: Barnyard Buddies or Livestock Unlimited, 180 Main St., Brookville, PA, 15825, or to Brockway FFA, 100 Alexander St., Brockway, PA 15824.
