Peggy Joan Guthrie of Bonnea, S.C., formerly of Falls Creek, Pa., passed away Dec. 21, 2017, at her home. No services have been planned, as was her wish.
Peggy was born in Clearfield, Pa., to Henry and Christine Czarnecki on May 8, 1944. She graduated from Clearfield High School in 1962. She earned degrees from both Penn State and Clarion universities. She enjoyed art and painting, reading and study, and pursued these all of her life. Her interests included meteorology and astrology, and she loved her cat, Nora.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents and her late husband Charles Edward Guthrie of Falls Creek.
Peggy is survived by four sons, Henry Guthrie of DuBois, Pa., Charles (Martha) Guthrie Jr., of Leeuwarden, Netherlands, Aaron (Mayumi) Guthrie and Dennis Guthrie, both of San Diego, Calif.; as well as two daughters, Jane (David) Wilder of Woodbridge, Va., and Andrea Guthrie of Moncks Corner, S.C. She is also survived by her sister, Patrice (Gary) Case of Naples, Fla.; four grandchildren: Kristi Wilder, Graham and Claire Guthrie, and Kanon Guthrie; as well as three step-grandchildren. Also surviving are her two nieces, Elizabeth Case and Emily (Michael) Ayers, and a great-nephew, Theodore Ayers.
