SHARPSVILLE - Ramon Henry Cooper, 84, Sharpsville, passed away July 25, 2017, at UPMC Horizon, Farrell, following a lengthy illness.
Born July 12, 1933, to Raymond Martin Cooper and Eloise Lila (Woodard) Cooper, he was a 1951 graduate of Sandy High School. He served in the Air Force.
He is survived by former wife, Barbara Fuoco; stepson, Joseph Fuoco, Greenville; stepdaughters, Kimberly Fuoco-Conti, Sharpsville, and Michele Bradac, Hermitage; first wife and best friend, Barbara Woods, Brockway; two sons, Ramon S. Cooper, DuBois, and Rick Cooper, Brockway; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Nancy Morgan, Maryland, Joan Cooper, Florida, Sandra Yarbrough, Maryland, and brother Merritt, DuBois.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gary Cooper; and sister, Phyllis Cooper Hearns.
Ray was well known as a steeplejack; ran business under name, "Ray Cooper Roofing & Steeplejack." He was a sponsor and consummate supporter of many sports i.e., Little League baseball, midget football, basketball (both men and women), girls volleyball, bowling, and first semi-pro hockey team in Mercer County. His favorite was softball, winning several state titles in men's division during late 60s and early 70s.
