Raymond C. Bish, age 89, of Westville Road, Brockway, Pa., died on Monday, June 12, 2017, at Highland View Health Care in Brockway.
Born on May 14, 1928, in Fox Twp., Elk County, he was the son of the late Raymond A. and Ima L. Snyder Bish.
On April 19, 1946, he was married to Aileen Fay Ruth. She survives.
Raymond began his working life at Brockway Glass. Over the years he also was employed at the clay plant, the box factory in Brockway and Brockway Pressed Metals. He retired after 29 years of owning and operating Brockway Honda.
Raymond was a member of the Moorhead United Methodist Church, and a member of the Brockway Area Kaimanns.
Being very mechanically inclined, he spent his whole life teaching others how to fix common things around the house. He also introduced countless men, women and children to the joys of motorcycle and ATV ownership and how to enjoy them safely.
Another of his favorite pastimes was cutting the grass in the field between Fay's Christmas Village and the Honda Shop during the summer months. Perhaps his greatest joy was just simply sitting around the pond beside his house, spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife he is also survived by four daughters: Sharon Dusch of Brockway, Janet (Wally) Ivoska of Clarion, Pa., Alice White of Brockway, Laurie (Mike) Dembicki of Pemberville, Ohio; two sons, Norman (Patty) Bish, Ronald Bish, both of Brockway; two sisters, Ima Jean Thomas of DuBois, Pa., and Beverly Starr of Kersey, Pa. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents he is also preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Bish and a son-in-law, Daniel E. White.
Calling hours will be on Wednesday, June 14, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. The funeral service will be on Thursday, June 15, at 11 a.m., also at the funeral home, with the Rev. Terry Felt officiating. Burial will follow in the Brandy Camp Cemetery.
