Raymond L. Snyder, 88, Reynoldsville, died Wednesday afternoon, June 24, 2015, at the DuBois Nursing Home.
Born Jan. 27, 1927, he was a son of the late Earl H. and Sarah M. Shaffer Snyder. On July 7, 1947, he was married to Inez R. Guiher Snyder. She survives in Reynoldsville.
Before retirement, Raymond worked as a truck driver for the Harry Katzen Co. of Reynoldsville for more than 40 years.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving as a Seaman First Class in the U.S. Navy.
Raymond was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Reynoldsville. He was a life member of the American Legion Post #945 and the Patriotic Order Sons of America.
He is also survived by two daughters, Deborah Smith (Stewart) of Reynoldsville, Shelley Danch (William) of DuBois; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; one brother, Earl Snyder (Pat) of Reynoldsville; three sisters, Ruth Guiher (Chester) and daughters, Lori and Jan of Reynoldsville, Viola Stormer (Robert) of Brookville, Evelyn Calhoun (Dennis) of Johnstown; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by two grandsons, Michael Snyder and Kyle Danch; one sister, Janet Haag; and one brother, Kenneth Snyder.
Friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. Sunday, June 28, at the Bernard P. Snyder Funeral Home in Reynoldsville. A funeral service will be held at noon Monday, June 29, at the funeral home with the Rev. David Miller officiating. Burial will be in Lakelawn Memorial Park, Reynoldsville.
