Raymond R. Dolby, of Corsica, died at his home on Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at the age of 74.
Born July 12, 1941, in Limestone, Pa., he was the son of the late Roy James and Abigail Cyphert Dolby.
Ray was a veteran, serving with the U.S. Army. He worked as a coal miner for a number of years until the mine closed. He became a truck driver until he retired in 2015. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and Brookville Firemen's Club. He enjoyed hunting, playing pool and spending time with friends and family.
Raymond is survived by two sons, Kevin (Sharon) Cole of Virginia, and Ron (Michele) Dolby of Ambridge, Pa.; a daughter, Michele (Jason) Shrecengost of New Bethlehem, Pa.; his children's mother, Linda Dolby of Florida; a brother, Ken (Sharon) Dolby of New Jersey; three sisters, Jackie Clinger and Bonnie Fitzsimmons, both of Summerville, and Florence VanCamp of New Jersey; eight grandchildren: Kristen, Courtney, Kevin, Kyle, Casey, Kennedy, Madison, and Zak; four great-grandchildren: Megrah, Cadence, Aria, and Ayden; and his significant other, Judy Hess of Corsica, Pa.
Along with his parents, Raymond is preceded in death by a son, Brian; a brother, Ralph; and a sister, Wilda Huff.
His family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2016, at the Furlong Funeral Home, (www.furlongfuneralhome.com), Gregory K. Furlong FD, corner of Broad Street and First Avenue, Summerville, Pa.
