Richard C. Sprague, 82, of DuBois, Pa., died on Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016, at his home.
Born Tuesday, Aug. 8, 1933, in Winslow Township, Pa., he was the son of Eugene and Esther (Strouse) Sprague. He married Mary Shirley Crawford on Feb. 22, 1958. She survives.
He retired from Riverside DuBois after 20 years where he worked as a baker. Prior to that he was employed by Beaver Meadow Bakery.
He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church DuBois, Lifetime member of the Sandy Hose Company, Independent Political and Social Club, and The Olympic Athletic Club. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Surviving are son, Kenneth A. Sprague of Glenn Campbell, Pa.; daughter, Karen E. Lopez (Mark) of DuBois, Pa.; granddaughter Alysha N. Lopez of Lewistown, Pa.; brothers, Royce Sprague (Charlotte) of Reynoldsville, Pa., and Robert Sprague (Linda) of Reynoldsville, Pa.
He was predeceased by brothers: Raymond Sprague, Russell Sprague, Ronald Sprague and Ralph Sprague; sisters, Ruth Kunselman and Ruby Smith.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Christ Lutheran Church, 875 Sunflower Drive, DuBois, Pennsylvania 15801 with the Rev. Amy Miller officiating. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the church. The family will also receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the Christ Lutheran Church in DuBois.
The family will also receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 15, 2015, at Bernard P. Snyder Funeral Home lnc., 206 E. Main Street, Reynoldsville, Pennsylvania. Memorial contributions may be sent lo Christ Lutheran Church DuBois, 875 Sunflower Drive, DuBois, PA 15801.
