Richard "Rich" Grecco, age 77, of Bond Street, Brockway, Pa., died on Friday, May 19, 2017, at U.P.M.C. Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Born in DuBois on Aug. 19, 1939, he was the son of the late Tony and Marcell Yusnukis Grecco. On May 28, 1960 he was married to Joyce A. Elias and she preceded him in death on March 1, 2017.
Retired, Rich had been employed as a mould maker in the Mould Shop Department at Brockway Glass for 44 years.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict.
He was a member at St. Tobias Church in Brockway where he served as an usher for many, many years. Rich was a member of the Hoofers Club, S.O.I. Club and had served as past president of Brockway Little League. He was an avid Pirates, Steelers and Penguins fan and enjoyed hunting, golfing and especially playing cards.
His greatest joy in life was his grandchildren, following and participating in the many activities they were involved in.
He is survived by four sons: Paul (Jean Marie) Grecco, Kevin (Lisa) Grecco, Bruce (Robin) Grecco and Bob (Kim) Grecco, all of Brockway. He is also survived by nine grandchildren: Michael (Kate), Peter, Eric (fiancée Holly), Ian, Brock, Cole, Paige, Janel, and Bryce Grecco and one great-granddaughter, Brooklyn.
In addition to his parents and his wife he is also preceded in death by a brother, Anthony S. "Tony" Grecco.
Calling hours will be on Monday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 23 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Tobias Church in Brockway with Msgr. Charles Kaza presiding. Burial will follow in St. Tobias Cemetery. Full military honors will be accorded by Parson-Marnati Post #95 of the American Legion Tuesday morning at the cemetery.
