Richard L. Aurand, 73, of Warren, Ohio, passed away at his home, with his family by his side, Saturday morning, July 4, 2015.
Richard was born Jan. 24, 1942, in Sewickley, the son of the late Charles and Jennie Carlson Aurand.
Richard grew up in DuBois and graduated from DuBois High School in 1959. He received his bachelor's degree in business from Penn State University in 1963.
Richard married the love of his life Patricia Burkett on Jan. 25, 1963. The couple moved to the Youngstown region in 1967 for work.
Richard worked at General Motors in the payroll department for nearly 20 years. He then worked for Allstate Insurance Company as an insurance salesman, retiring after 25 years in 2002.
He belonged to the Warren Rotary Club, was an avid Penn State football fan, a member of Vienna Fish and Game Club, and a member of Howland United Methodist Church. He enjoyed reading and spending time with his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Patricia; his 5 children; 10 grandchildren; a sister, Ruth (Benjamin) Coppolo, from Weedville.
