Richard R. Feldbauer, 83, 101 Linwood Ave., St. Marys, passed away Monday, July 20, 2015, at his home, following an illness of the past several months.
Born Sept. 7, 1931, in St. Marys, he was a son of the late Raymond S. and Anna Maria Portzer Feldbauer. On July 11, 1953, in the Holy Rosary Church in Johnsonburg, he married Veronica E. Machcoviak. She preceded him in death May 26, 2005.
He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School.
He was a retired Command Sergeant Major in the United States Army, having served for 31 years.
Richard was a member of the St. Mary's Church and the American Legion. He was also a board member for the Community Nurses Adult Day Care. He enjoyed fixing things and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by three daughters: Mary Morelli and her husband, Tom, of St. Marys; Kim Bush and her husband, Rick, of Ridgway; and Susan Davido and her husband, Randy, of Brockport; one son, Robert R. Feldbauer and his wife, Melody, of Newport, K.Y.; and seven grandchildren: Christopher Morelli, Adam Feldbauer (Kimberly), Evan Feldbauer, Kyle Davido, Dean Davido, Brianna Bush, and Courtney Bush.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Feldbauer, who died in infancy; and a son, Richard R. Feldbauer Jr., who also died in infancy.
There will be no visitation.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in the St. Mary's Church at noon Friday, July 24, 2015, with the Rev. Daniel Wolfel, OSB and Rev. Eric Vogt, OSB, concelebrating. Full military rites will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemen's Burial Detail. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery.
