Robert "Bruce" Daugherty, age 70, passed away Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017.
He was born on Nov. 7, 1946, in DuBois, Pennsylvania to the late Robert and Margaret (Welsh) Daugherty. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Richard Daugherty.
Bruce is survived by his sister, Marcie Anderson; sister-in-law, Donna Miller; nieces, Julie (Steve) Simensky, Lisa (Bob) Bracco and Jennifer (Bubba) Wyngarden; nephews, Douglas Daugherty and Steven (Kristin) Daugherty; many great nieces and nephews; extended family members; and dear friends.
Bruce was a longtime employee of Walmart and was recently recognized by the National Walmart Newsletter for his 20 years of service.
He was a member of Community Connections and enjoyed many of their groups, especially the Vacation Club. Bruce was also a longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a faithful attender of their contemporary service.
He was an avid sports fan, especially of the Columbus Blue Jackets. But his true love for sports was watching his great nieces play volleyball, basketball and track.
Bruce was a friend to all. He never met a stranger nor forget a name.
Family will receive friends 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017, at Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington, Ohio 43221. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017, at Beechwoods Presbyterian Church, 14 Beechwood Road, Falls Creek, Pennsylvania, 15840. Inurnment at Beechwoods Cemetery, Falls Creek, Pa.
