Robert E. Wachob, 79, of Cochranton, died Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at his home.
Born, Feb. 2, 1938, in Brookville, he was the son of Frederick and Carolyn L. Glenn Wachob. He married Jacqueline Sullivan on Sept. 20, 1958. She survives.
Bob graduated from Clarion Limestone High School in 1956 and served in the US Army Reserves for several years.
He drove truck for Stahlman Coal Company located in Corsica, delivered milk and along with his father operated the former Wachob's Golden Dawn Grocery Store in Cochranton for 32 years. He and his wife also operated a pizza shop in Cochranton and for 25 years he was a US postal carrier until he retired in 1998.
He attended the Cochranton Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, also the New Beginnings Church in Meadville and was a member of the Cochranton Sportsmen's Club where he enjoyed shooting Trap.
Spending time with family and traveling to Canada with friends was dear to Bob, as well as hunting, fishing and camping.
In addition to his wife of 58 years, he is survived by a son, Robert E. Wachob Jr., of Romania and a daughter, Rhonda Wachob McCandless of Meadville; two grandchildren, Brandon Wachob and Dustin McCandless; and a sister, Jean Preston of Brockway; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Darrin Wachob.
Friends and family will be received at the Dickson Family Funeral Home, Inc., 123 S. Franklin St., Cochranton, on today from 4 until 7 p.m. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. John McGarvey of the Cochranton Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, officiating
Interment will be in the Cochranton Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Cochranton American Legion Post #836.
