Robert G. "Rob" Wittman Jr., 37, Tokarcik Lane, Brockway, died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014, at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, Ohio as a result of injuries sustained in a single-vehicle accident.
He was born Aug. 25, 1977, in St. Marys, the son of the late Robert G. Wittman Sr. and Linda Larson Wittman who survives and lives in Brockway.
Rob was a member of the Crenshaw Community Church where he also served as its treasurer.
He had been employed at Fremer Lumber and Moulding in Brockway, and also owned his own custom woodworking business "A Touch of Divinity" from which he donated 10 percent of his profits to his church. Rob was a 1995 graduate of the St. Marys High School and a 1999 graduate of Penn State University where he obtained his bachelor's degree in psychology. He was a member of the VFW Club in Crenshaw as well as several other organizations.
Faith and family were the absolute most important parts of his life. He also enjoyed gardening, his mustang, playing softball and was a member of several pool and dart leagues.
Rob also loved his dog and his cats as well as spending time with his friends and any and all outdoor activities.
In addition to his mother, Linda, he is also survived by three sisters: Kristen Baxter of Brockway, Melissa Kelly of DuBois and Amanda (Dave) Best also of Brockway; two aunts, Kathleen (Dick) Bobenrieth of Ridgway and Judy Larson of Brockport; his cousins, Jeffrey Larson of Brockport, Gretchen Rokosky of Ridgway and Todd Bobenreith of Harrisburg; five nieces: Jessamy and Whitney Baxter, Carli Ojeda, Adriene Kelly, Taelyn Best; and two nephews, Devin Kelly and Gage Kerchinski.
He was preceded in death by his father; a nephew, Michael Baxter; and his maternal grandparents, Russell and Genevieve Larson.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home in Brockway. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6 at the funeral home with Pastor Craig Duffield officiating. Burial will follow in the Brockport Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Crenshaw Community Church, the Gateway Humane Society or the Vietnam Veterans of America.
