Robert Lee Marsh, 56, Mt. Holly, N.C., died Monday, April 20, 2015.
"Tell me when I'm lying..."
Born June 10, 1958, in DuBois, he was a son of Darrell "Wick" Marsh and Lorna Thomas Marsh.
Earned Eagle Scout honor and graduated from DuBois Area High in 1976. He moved to Charlotte, N.C., in 1979 (leading a small group of fellow "Yankees" who would follow him shortly thereafter).
He married the love of his life, Diane Laska Marsh, and had his first son in 1984.
Rob worked as a machinist/HVAC specialist for more than 30 years by trade, but became skillful in many other areas along the way, including woodworking, mechanics, landscaping and camping, all while being a strong and wonderful father to his three children. He was a jack of all trades and was known for the occasional crazy project (those who knew him well will recall "Loser Lake"), and his love of pizza and lengthy stories.
Rob never met a stranger, considered friends as family, and had a genuine love of people, music, humor and a good time. He passed away peacefully in bed Monday, but his legacy will live on in the many lives he touched.
Survivors include Diane Laska Marsh, wife of 28 years; children: Ryan, Jessica and Eric Marsh; grandchildren: Kendra Hawley and Kamri Marsh; mother: Lorna Thomas Marsh; siblings: Cheryl Hassleman; and his beloved dogs, Daisy and Tessa.
He was preceded in death by his father, Darrell "Wick" Marsh.
Visitation/receiving of friends ("come as you are") will occur from 3-4 p.m. Saturday, April 25, at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mt. Holly. A memorial service will follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the charity of the donor's choosing.
