Robert W. "Bob" Smith, age 73, of Randall Court, DuBois, Pa., died on Monday, Nov. 20, 2017, at his home.
Born on May 30, 1944, in North Tonawanda, N.Y., he was the son of the late Joseph and Clarabelle (Ott) Smith.
On Aug. 16, 1969, he married Margaret F. (Shrubb) Smith. She survives.
Bob was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Vietnam War.
Bob retired as a truck driver from Preston Trucking in Falls Creek, Pa., after 30 years of service.
He was a member of the George D. Montgomery American Legion Post 17, was an avid woodworker, and enjoyed fishing. He was a well known "heckler," and enjoyed meeting with his coffee club of retired truck drivers every Tuesday at Valley Dairy.
His is survived by three daughters, Lisa Vought and her husband Allen, and Laura Weimer and her husband David, both of Rockwood, Pa., and Bobbie Shenkle of DuBois, Pa.; a brother, Joseph Smith and his wife Patty of DuBois, Pa.; six grandchildren: Branden, Katrena, Jess, Jenna, Luke, and Lauren; and three great-grandchildren, Brailynn, Brooke, and Maddox.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ken McConnaughey and a sister, Kathy Myers.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 24, 2017, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., DuBois.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017, at 1 p.m. from the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. with Pastor Lance Tucker officiating.
Full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard from the funeral home.
Burial will follow in Beechwoods Cemetery.
