Robert W. Trumbull, 76, 540 Hemlock Ave., Ridgway, passed away Monday, July 20, 2015, at home surrounded by his loved ones.
Born April 24, 1939, in Ridgway, he was a son of the late Alton and Beatrice Mitchell Trumbull. He married Nancy Merritt. She survives.
He had resided in Ridgway all of his life. Robert was a member of the Brandy Camp Methodist Church.
He attended Ridgway area schools and was a member of the Pennsylvania National Guard.
He had been employed at Exotic Metals for most of his career; he retired from Symco.
He was a member of the Ridgway Rifle Club and the Ridgway Township Sportsmen's Club.
Robert enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by five children: Sindy Simbeck (George) of Ridgway, Penny Dickey (Robert) of Johnsonburg, Robin Brubaker (Eric) of DuBois, Judy Parolari (Thomas) of Brockport, Robert Trumbull (Lisa) of Ridgway; 13 grandchildren: Eric Gustafson, Jesse Gustafson, Joshua Gustafson, Robert Gustafson, Kristen Ma, Brian Koch, James Trumbull, Michael Carberry, Andrew Carberry, Emily Parolari, Lyndsey Trumbull, Tara Trumbull, Chloe Trumbull; and by numerous great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Marjorie (Marty) Gage and by a sister-in-law, Rose Trumbull.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter in infancy; two sisters, Mildred Amitrone, Jane Vidmar; and three brothers, Earl, Harry and Fred Trumbull.
Friends will be received from 1-3 and 6-9 p.m. today (Wednesday, July 22) at the Meehan-Shilk Funeral Home, Ridgway. Funeral services for Robert Trumbull will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 23, 2015, in the funeral home with the Rev. Paul and Sue Fields officiating. Interment will be in Brandy Camp Methodist Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Ridgway Ambulance Corp. or to the Brandy Camp Methodist Church.
