Ronald R. Boleen, 73, Route 28, Brockway, died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2014, at his residence.
Born April 5, 1941, in Lanes Mills, he was the son of the late Gust and Hazel Spare Boleen. He was married to Mary L. Burley on April 9, 1966. She survives.
Retired, Ron was a self-employed contractor.
He was a member of the Gospel Center Church in Falls Creek.
He enjoyed woodworking, carving and spoiling his dog Suzi Q. One of Ron's great joys came from spending time with his grandchildren and going out for breakfast with his friends.
He is also survived by two daughters, Sally (Ron) Halowell of Falls Creek and Michelle (Dennis) Haag of DuBois; one son, Kenneth (Jenn) Boleen of Brockway; one brother, Terry (Barb Leitzel) Boleen of Ridgway; six grandchildren: Kyle Boleen, Brandon Boleen, Cody Haag, Austin Halowell, Lyndsay Haag and Nathan Halowell.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Roger Boleen.
Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 4 at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Bob Myers, Rev. Mark Myers and Pastor Victor Baxter officiating. Burial will follow in the Beechtree Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Autism Society of America 4340 East-West Hwy, Suite 350 Bethesda, MD 20814.
