Rose C. Lingenfelter, 85, Route 28 North, Brookville, died Monday, June 16, 2014, at the Jefferson Manor, Brookville. She was formerly of Reynoldsville.
Born July 5, 1928, in Prescottville, she was the daughter of the late in Asa H. Fye and Jennie A. Flotz Fye. She was married to Earl S. Lingenfelter on Oct. 16, 1943. He preceded her in death Jan. 19, 2000.
Beloved homemaker and retired nurses aid from Christ The King Manor, DuBois.
She was a member of the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church in Reynoldsville, taught the Good News Club and took care of many children. She loved the Lord and all her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Earl S. (Diane) Lingenfelter and David P. Lingenfelter of Reynoldsville; four daughters: Nancy (Donald) Barnhart of Bassett, Va., Rosemary Lingenfelter of DuBois, Barbara States of Carrollton, Ky., Susan (Scott) Mahlon of Reynoldsville; 22 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Peter (Dee) Fye of Punxsutawney; four sisters: Esther Kessler of Brockway, Ruth Dinger of Erie, Grace (Paul) Coleman of Brockway and Helen Grady of Brockport.
She was also preceded in death by a son, two grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, three brothers and five sisters.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Bernard P. Snyder Funeral Home in Reynoldsville. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Donald Barnhart and Rev. Sam Bundy officiating. Burial will be in Lakelawn Memorial Park, Reynoldsville.
