Rosena H. Voelker, 90, DuBois, passed away April 15, 2015, at Christ the King Manor.
Born March 2, 1925, in Clearfield, she was the daughter of the late Adam W. and Esther Ogden Hummel. On Sept. 17, 1955, she married Paul O. Voelker. He preceded her in death Nov. 1, 1992.
She graduated from Indiana Hospital School of Nursing in 1946. Rosena also attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania and the University of Pittsburgh where she was affiliated at Children's Hospital and Western Psychiatric.
She retired after 31 years from West Penn Hospital, in Pittsburgh, where she was the Employee and Student Health Nursing Director.
Rosena was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. She was a member Of Clara Hall, DRMC Volunteer and the Piece Quilting Club.
Rosena enjoyed reading, knitting, and sewing.
She is survived by a brother, Jerred Hummel and his wife, Carol, of Michigan; sister-in-law, Gay Hummel; and several nieces and nephews.
Rosena was also preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Hummel; and a brother, retired Sergeant 1st Class Gordon Hummel.
Friends and family will be received from 1 p.m. until the time of services Sunday, April 19, at the Mohney-Yargar Funeral Chapel, DuBois. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Pastor John Miller officiating. Interment will be at Allegheny County Memorial Park, Allison Park.
