Royden Clair "Mike" Michael, 88, of Montandon, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015, at Riverwoods, Lewisburg.
He was born June 5, 1927, a son of the late Clair C. and Mildred (Plyler) Michael. On Feb. 10, 1950, he married the former Edna Wayland, who survives and together they celebrated 65 years of marriage.
Mike attended high school in Brookville. After high school, he served in the United States Navy as a Seabee. He later retired as a foreman working in road construction.
He was a member of the Montandon United Methodist Church.
Having a love for the outdoors, Mike was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Surviving in addition to his wife are son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Cindy Michael of Ephrata; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Daniel Krumm of Pennsville, N.J.; daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and John Erdley of Millmont; seven grandchildren: Jason Michael, Shannon Popolis, Allison, Bradley and Christopher Krumm, Erin and Sara Erdley; three step grandchildren and five great-grandchildren: Kirstin and Christopher Michael, Hannah and Hunter Popolis and Isaac Krumm.
In addition to his parents, Mike was predeceased by his brother, Donald Michael and sister, Donna Rankin.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 12 at the Montandon United Methodist Church, Route 45, 231 Main St. Montandon. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. with Pastor Joan Dobson, officiating.
Burial will follow in Montandon Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Montandon United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 86, Montandon, PA 17850.
